Telephone Talks between Julia Shvabauskene, Deputy Head of the Rosselkhoznadzor, and Iury Carp, Director of the National Agency for Food Safety, Moldova

The talks were held on the initiative of the Moldavian party interested in export of stone fruit crops – black cherries, plumps, peaches, nectarines, and apricots, to the Russian market.

Julia Shvabauskene explained that such supplies can be authorized only after the Rosselkhoznadzor specialists familiarize themselves with the work of the National Agency for Food Safety, its regional subdivisions carrying out monitoring of biological safety of cultivation areas as well as with mechanisms of phytosanitary certification of exported products and guaranteed compliance with norms and requirements of Russia and Eurasian Economic Community in the field of quarantineable product safety. The timing of the inspection will be agreed upon in due course. Materials on the volume of production of specific types of plant products as well as the results of systemic monitoring of their cultivation areas for the last three years shall be submitted to the Rosselkhoznadzor prior to inspection.
